Comments

The obverse design depicts Sri Dalada Maligawa, the temple of the tooth as Buddhist cultural heritage site of Kandy district.
It is located in the palace complex of the Kingdom of Kandy and houses a relic of Buddha's tooth. After Gautama Buddha's parinirvana and cremation in Kushinagar, the tooth found in his ashes was considered a relic.
